If you’ve never had coaching before you might be wondering what to expect and who it’s suitable for. In short, coaching can benefit anyone looking to create changes in their life, whether that’s weight loss, confidence, relationships or career change. Find out more about what to expect and why it works below.
What should I expect from the coaching process?
At the start of the process, we talk about where you are now and where you want to be (but don’t worry if you have no idea at this stage!). Once we’re really clear on your goal, we look at what might be holding you back, and clear up any limiting beliefs and decisions using a variety of techniques including NLP. After creating a roadmap to success with milestones and tasking, my role as a Personal Growth Coach is to guide you to achieving success, and the changes you set out to make.
Can’t I just create the changes I want to make myself? Why do I need a coach to help me?
You could, but many people find they only have a vague idea of where they want to go and how to get there. Others start with good intentions but something always seems to get in the way. It’s works in a similar way to a Personal Trainer. They work with you to establish your fitness goals, design a programme to achieve those goals, and are with you every step of the way to encourage you and hold you accountable. Without a Personal Trainer or a Coach, it’s very easy to put off putting in the work to create change.
What will I need to do?
First of all you need to open and honest. During sessions I need to get the full picture about where you are and what might be holding you back. Everything we discuss will be confidential*. It’s worth noting that coaching is a two way process and you’re going to need to put in the hard work. That might be as part of tasking I set, or challenging yourself to do something out of your comfort zone. You always have the choice of whether you follow the roadmap we create together, but if you don’t then you are much less likely to achieve success. Remember, if nothing changes, then nothing changes.
How long does each session last?
Each session will normally last for 60 to 90 minutes.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients normally need around 5-6 sessions to create real change but it’s totally up to you. There is never any pressure to re-book and sessions can be spaced out in whatever way works best for you. Some clients choose to book a check in session every 6-12 months after the initial 5-6 sessions, but it’s totally up to you.
Are sessions online or face to face?
If you’re within my local area (within 10 miles of the DY6 postcode) then we can do face to face sessions at a location that suits us both. However I also offer online sessions for anyone further afield.
*A note on confidentiality. Everything we discuss will always be kept confidential. The only time I would need to break that confidence would be if I though you or someone else was in danger. In this case I would always discuss this with you first.
